Close To You

Roses and tulips are among my most favourite flowers!  Tulips may be simple in shape but they come in an abundance of beautiful colours and patterns.  They are also one of the early blooms we see after Winter and so they represent and remind us of renewal and the warmer, sunny days of Spring.

The deep purple and velvety look of these gorgeous tulips were irresistibly beautiful and so I just had to paint them!

The rich hues of deep violet and lavender dance across the canvas, creating a sense of serenity and grace.  The emerald green leaves add a touch of freshness, while the play of light and shadow brings the floral subjects to life.

The background, with its warm beige and bold red tones, serves as a striking contrast that enhances the beauty of the tulips.  I used layers of paint and thick brushstrokes to give the painting a textured quality that invites you to reach out and touch the velvety petals.
