My first solo exhibition which showcased a mix of floral, landscape and abstract artworks was held at RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) Rosemoor in Devon from 29th March until 28th April, 2024.

"Curiosity is what keeps you working steadily."

- Elizabeth Gilbert

My realistic artworks are painterly, not photographic!  With these paintings I love to be more detailed...my curiosity to go deeper is satisfied.  I invite you to enter the scene and imagine being there, taking a moment to feel calm and joy.

"There is no must in art because art is free."

- Wassily Kandinsky

Just as I enjoy creating paintings in detail, I equally enjoy the freedom of painting in an impressionistic style where it is the shapes and colours that I focus on in a looser way, without being fully abstract.

During the Covid-19 lockdown I participated in the Portrait for NHS Heroes Challenge and these portraits were donated to the staff and the key workers who worked tirelessly for us.  Paintings have also been donated to other auctions and ALIM (A Letter In Mind) for The National Brain Appeal to which I donate a painting annually.

"Abstract art is music for your eyes."

- Arthur Wesley Dowe

I enjoy creating abstract artworks which are nature inspired and represent my emotions and memories of the moments I was out seeing, sketching and taking in the sights and sounds around me.  Using various techniques, building texture with layers, colour and shapes, manipulating the paint to achieve unique artwork that we can all feel an affinity with.

This series of cocktail paintings were inspired by Maestro Mixologist Harprith Mann (@mix.mann on Instagram) who has given me his permission to use his photos and the accompanying titles so that 20% of proceeds from this collection will be given to the NHS or a charity of your choice.

I had so much fun creating the postcard sized artworks in this series which are drawn in ink pen, without looking at the paper while being drawn!  This makes each piece of artwork unique and wobbly looking, therefore this series is called Fun Tipsy Cocktails.
